LANDR Guitar is basically like having loads of guitar loops and guitar samples (sequenced guitar patterns) trigger play with just 1 press of a MIDI key. Yes, this is a sampled and looped guitar VST plugin, which comes with loads of different guitar loops and presets and loads of awesome functions.

LANDR Guitar is more of a loop-based sampler guitar than an actual virtual instrument, which has loads of guitar loops pre-installed and ready to go at a click of a MIDI controller. Each guitar preset comes with its own set of pre-recorded loops which sync to the DAW's tempo based on the settings provided. Yes, each piano note will trigger a different guitar loop, which is part of that same preset.

To be honest, we would not call this a virtual instrument here at Plug4Producers since this VST plugin fully operates on pre-recorded guitar samples, but since it comes with built-in effects and virtual instrumental features, it falls under this bracket. Which is kind of interesting, because there are many guitar loop generation VST plugins on the net, which use a download guitar sample loops option.

This VST plugin simply lets all modern music producers do all of that within its library of ready-to-go guitar loops and guitar chops, which work together or can be used separately under each preset.

Also, LANDR has done a great job of adding some built-in effects features which really modulate and control the final sound signal output.

This plugin has been well built by LANDR and provides a solid framework when it comes to playing guitar loops, editing the loops and reversing, speeding up and slowing the guitar loops down. Overall, quite a decent (loop playback) sampler-style VST plugin.

VST Features

Comes with great amounts of presets and genre-style-orientated guitar loops, which can be synced to a specific key and even reversed, which is highly popular in modern trap and UK-type beat compositions. It's a shame this plugin does not support single guitar sound output and is more of a loop-based sampler, but it still comes with a wide range of loops, ready-made and ready to go at a click of a MIDI keyboard.

VST Ease of Use

This plugin is fairly easy to use, with a simple user interface, which allows any music producer to select any presets they prefer and instantly start playing any guitar-style loops almost instantly. The modulations and settings are easy to see and easily selected and deselected. It is a simple VST design but has a decent sound signal output, scoring this plugin 8 out of 10.

VST Performance

The plugin performs very well when it comes to guitar melody loops which are pre-recorded; the sound signal algorithm is quite simple since there are no virtual synth sound outputs or any complex processing of sound since this plugin is mainly based on loops.

VST Value

The price of this plugin is quite fair but a bit on the higher side for its value when purchased separately, but then again this plugin is also part of the subscription monthly payments, which come at a cheaper price and also unlock loads of other premium plugins, which is well worth checking out. Let's not forget all the live guitar recording which was done and processed to get all of those guitar loops working with this plugin, which pretty much makes up for its price, so value gets a solid 6 out of 10.
